Jesus was well-schooled in the Scriptures, and He often followed the traditions of His heritage. He also had a daily routine of prayer and ministering to the needs of the people. However, He did not allow traditions or personal preferences to stand in the way of carrying out God’s will for the day.

We live in a dark world that desperately needs to see the light of Jesus Christ. Our calling is to shine forth God’s truth so that others can be directed to the One who redeems and is the path to liberty and life. We are to point the way to Jesus, the way, the truth and the life

Let Jesus set you free from anger. He wants to heal your inner being.

Psalm 37:8 ~ Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;

Anger can block the power of the Holy Spirit in your heart and soul. When your mind and spirit are stuck on ways you have been hurt, you struggle to look up to touch Jesus, the One who saves and heals our broken heart. So give that ever simmering anger away at the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ. Leave it there! Let His healing precious blood wash away the pain you are carrying in your thoughts and spirit. Yes, release it now to the One who saves, heals, and delivers from sin. Your humble heart, He will not turn away but will set you free to forgive the offender as He has forgiven you. He will shower you with Living Water that will quench your thirsty soul. You will drink deeply of His Spirit that fills you with love and mercy for others, even the ones who hurt you.

Proverbs 16:32 ~ He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.

Ephesians 4:32 ~ And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Mark 4:9 ~ And He said to them, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

Listen with your ears, receive into your spirit, believe with your heart.

When reading your Bible, do take the time to listen prayerfully and carefully to what God is saying to you. Remember that faith in God’s Word comes by hearing it, understanding it, and receiving it. The Holy Spirit is your teacher. Ask Him to show you what God is saying to you. So don’t rush through your reading but allow the living powerful Word to sink deep into your inner being. Then listen and believe!

To help this Word become living in you, make a point of doing one thing in obedience to what you have heard. By doing this, the Word will become strong in your heart!

It is a good thing to jot down God’s message to you in a Daily Journal where you can refer back to this treasure He has given you. You can continue to receive God’s living Word daily, and thereby growing in faith and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ as you read your Bible. Thanks be to God!

Romans 10:17 ~ So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Called to follow Jesus

Matthew 4:18-22 (KJ) And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. When Jesus called to His disciples to follow Him,

it was an invitation to be changed by Him, to become

like Him and to share His passion for those who need a Savior.

This high honor of being His follower, should also be seen in our very own lives as well.

We too have been called to catch the attention of the world as we talk, think and act just

like JESUS the teacher, the rabbi, of our souls
